How Do Partial and Full Account Transfers Work
When transferring investments to or from Silo Markets, you may have the option to move only certain positions or transfer your entire account.
This article explains the difference between partial and full transfers, how to select specific investments using the position picker, and how to verify that you are requesting only the assets you want to transfer.
1. What Is a Partial Transfer?
A partial transfer allows you to move only specific investments from your account while leaving the rest of your portfolio where it is.
For example, if you own several stocks and only want to transfer two of them, you can select those specific positions instead of transferring your entire account.
2. How Do I Select Specific Positions?
During the transfer process, the position picker lets you select which investments to transfer.
To make a partial transfer:
- Start the account transfer process.
- Select the option for a partial transfer, if available.
- Use the position picker to select the specific investments you want to move.
- Review the selected positions and quantities.
- Continue to the transfer review screen.
Only the positions you select should be included in the requested partial transfer.
3. What Is a Full Account Transfer?
A full account transfer moves the eligible assets in your account rather than allowing you to select individual positions.
If you only want to move certain investments, make sure you select the partial-transfer option rather than submitting a full account transfer.
4. How Can I Confirm I Didn't Request a Full Transfer?
Before submitting your transfer request, carefully review the transfer summary.
To Check that:
- Partial transfer is selected when you only want specific positions transferred.
- The position picker shows only the investments you intended to transfer.
- The quantities listed are correct.
- You did not select an option indicating that you want to transfer the entire account.
- The final review screen matches what you intended to submit.
If anything looks incorrect, do not submit the request until you have reviewed or corrected it.
