Reporting the loss of a loved one

Losing a loved one is tough on its own, so we want to make it as easy as possible when it comes to their account on Silo. Since Silo does not ask for discretionary authority, the account will be closed.

In such a situation, please contact support@silomarkets.com with the following information.

  • Your name, relationship to the deceased, and your contact information. Let us know your preferred contact time between 9 AM - 6 PM ET.
  • A photo or copy of the front and back of your unexpired driver’s license, or other government issued form of identification

Regarding the deceased, Silo will request identifiable information including their full name, date of birth, and any email accounts used.

  • Once you contact us, we will notify our custodian, Interactive Brokers LLC
  • Once we respond, we will request a copy of their death certificate
  • Make sure you provide a color photo of their death certificate (we cannot accept a scanned copy). If the certificate has a seal, make sure it’s visible in the photo, as well as all 4 corners of the certificate.
